Captain Sky, born Daryl on July 10, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, is a P-funk soul bassist, singer, and songwriter. Under the alias Captain Sky, he formed a large ensemble of Chicago musicians and began his recording career in 1979. He released two albums on AVI Records, "Pop Goes The Captain" and "The Adventures Of Captain Sky," along with one album on TEC in 1980 titled "Concerned Party No. 1." His music blends elements of P.Funk, early electrofunk, and raw disco, making these records some of the heaviest Funk albums ever produced. Since 1981, Captain Sky has focused on releasing a series of 12" singles, with his last release in 1988, titled "You Bring Me Up," which featured a more acid-house sound.
