Chris Peckings
Chris 'Peckings' Price is a producer and Co-Owner of the legendary Pecking Records, London's oldest reggae record store.
It was founded by his Father, George 'Peckings' Price, who initiated the first-ever Soundclash when he helped Coxsone Dodd establish the renowned Studio One. Armed with a suitcase of vinyl, he came to the UK in 1960 and built a distribution network for Studio One & others, leading to opening his shop in 1973.
After he passed, his sons, Chris & Duke, set up the Peckings label in 1994 to build on the legacy established by their father, producing and collaborating with Bitty Mclean, Gappy Ranks, Macka B, Lady Lex, Aleighcia Scott, Taurus Riley, Peter Hunningale, Aysha Loren and many more. The shop is still based in London and recently received a blue plaque for services to music in the UK.
