Dennis Kane
Dennis Kane has been a seminal and iconic figure in contemporary dance music culture since his emergence in the late 90′s NYC downtown scene. A former disco and old-school buyer for the infamous A1 records, Kane has been digging and collecting since his early teens in Philadelphia.
Kane has been a resident at such esteemed venues as APT, Cielo, Santos Party House, Output, and Good Room in NYC. He has also played and toured worldwide for the past 25 years. He ran the respected Disques Sinthomme and Ghost Town labels. Disques Sinthomme featured work by Cosmic Metal Mother, Richard Sen, Apollo Heights, Max Essa, Sal Principato, and The Beat Broker, among others. Ghost Town has featured edit work from Brennan Green, The Beat Broker, Bicep, Billy Woods, and Kane.
He partners with Darshan Jesrani (Metro Area) in the SIREN on Compost Records recording project. Their second single, A/Way, was featured on the Compost 25th anniversary box set with a remix by Phil Mison. Kane has also done numerous edits and remixes for In Flagrante, Rheinzand, Rare Wiri, Jonny Sender, Liz Torres, Cantoma, Illya Rudman, Phenomenal Handclap Band, WIlli Graf and DJ Pipi, among others.
Kane's new imprint, LESDK will have its second release this winter, featuring an original track from Roger “Heavyhands” Dickes featuring remixes from Kane, Rheinzand and Richard Sen. In addition to his touring production and remix work, Kane also produces and exhibits visual art and continues to write about music and culture.
