Dig This Way Records

Meet Jacopo and Carlotta, the two masterminds behind Dig This Way Records, an independent Italian label specializing in African Reissues and contemporary Roots Reggae productions. They started to dig into their specialty in 2014 when they went on their first trip to Africa to learn and deepen their understanding of the continent’s musical variety. Today, after countless visits to Kenya, Burkina Faso, Benin, Togo, The Ivory Coast, and Nigeria, they have gathered an outstanding, one-of-a-kind vinyl collection. After several encounters with many different artists, they decided that this was also the time for them to open a record label in order to globally promote some of their best finds and to actively support the local musicians and their families. In 2017, they founded Dig This Way Records, and one year later, they launched their first project: “Get Down With Me” by Peter Abdul. Since then, they have released 13 more albums. Their vision for the label is to give a stage to all kinds of forgotten African music by not only focusing on Funk and Boogie, for instance but also seeking African Reggae, Deep Highlife from various countries, Soukous or brilliantly strange hybrids or blends of Traditional and Western music.
