DJ Bunnyhausen
Since picking up the pirate radio virus as a child in the late 1980s, Bunnyhausen has been crate digging, producing, and DJing cosmic electronic music in her native London and her present home in Brighton.
A chance meeting with a copy of the first NEU! LP led her to become resident DJ and co-promoter of the fabled Kosmische Club in London, where she collided krautrock and vintage electronics with contemporary electronica, noise, and post-rock while promoting the likes of Mouse on Mars, Add N to X, Faust, and Acid Mothers Temple.
She was also one of the founding producers at London’s artist-led radio station Resonance FM and now co-presents Slav to the Rhythm on Repeater Radio, playing deep disco, post-punk, queer pop, and experimental sounds from Central and Eastern Europe.
She records as Xylitol and has released on Peripheral Conserve, Woodford Halse, and Planet Mu as well as her own Pierogii-Disc imprint, describing “Glamour, economy and plasticity” as her tools and values: “the amphetamine modernism of Ravesignal III, the lysergic reverie of Harmonia’s ‘Watussi,’ the deep space breakbeat propulsion of DJ Crystl repurposed for the era of the slow-motion apocalypse.”
