DJ Monchan
DJ Monchan leaped into New York City in the early '90s, fresh from Japan, with one goal: chasing the records he'd heard from legendary DJs like Masters At Work, Def Mix Production, and David Mancuso.
He began establishing his spot in New York's music culture by working behind the scenes at several record spots, enhancing his appreciation for house and disco. He spent some time as the dance music buyer at A1 Records' landmark store. He founded the Cedar Room, which started out as a party in his Cedar Street apartment in Brooklyn. As the musical conductor, he welcomed many guest DJs to open the dance floor and bring wild tracks with devoted dancers, creating a true groove and religious partying.
As a producer, he founded and operated the Dailysessions Records Label and released singles on GAMM, Downtown 304, Razor N Tape, Stilove4music, Cut My Records, Just What the World Needs, and more.
