Mücha
Amanda Butterworth, alias Mücha, is a sound artist, producer, composer, vocalist, and electronic musician.
Mücha's art was born from an alchemical process of studying contemporary art while immersing herself in the UK rave scene at the turn of the millennium. A self-taught multi-instrumentalist and DJ since her late teens, she combines her unique songwriting craft with her longstanding interest in electronic music to explore innovative and experimental ways of working with her voice. Mücha's voice is both instrument and portal, medium and message, omnipresent in her oeuvre in shifting forms and modes.
Her work as an interdisciplinary artist is an embodied and holistic practice that draws from her experience as a singer, yoga teacher, and trained actor. She seeks to explore relationships between sound, space, movement, the voice, the body, technology, and the listening emotional Self. Her releases for her native London's Blank Editions, 'Misc.', 'Broken 20', and most recently, her albums 'Fall' and 'Hello Caller' on Frequency Domain paint a picture of continuous expansion-sonic, thematic, and methodological.
Mücha is currently developing works for 3D audio, exploring the artistic possibilities of spatial audio formats to create and refine innovative, immersive sonic experiences.
