Philippe Noel & La Mano Peluda
Founded in 2010, this Montreal evening brings together hundreds of dancers every month in search of rare Afro, Caribbean, Latin, and Brazilian grooves. Through their travels, La Mano Peluda and Phil Noel, the creators and DJs of *Canicule Tropicale,* are constantly searching for forgotten records. The scope of these two diggers is broad: Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Asia... These records come from elsewhere and are also from another era, between 1950 and 1990.
*Canicule Tropicale* has invited many major players from the tropical scene to share its turntables: Quantic, Emile Omar (Radio Nova/Tropical Discoteq), Beto (Soundway), Frederik Lavik (Soundway/Afro7), Paulo Goncalves (Superfly Records), Rickard Massip (Soundway), Vik Sohonie (Ostinato Records), to name a few.
