Prince Language
Prince Language is one of New York City’s premier underground DJs and producers.
His acclaimed remixes for artists like LCD Soundsystem, MGMT, The Rapture, Azari & III, Armand Van Helden, as well as numerous edits of dancefloor obscurities for the Editions Disco label, have earned his tracks a place in the sets of DJ’s as diverse as David Mancuso, DJ Harvey, Mark Ronson, Carl Craig, James Murphy, and Gilles Peterson, and brought him gigs spinning diverse yet coherent sets for partygoers in Europe, Asia, Australia and South America.
He was born and raised in Chicago in a time before the internet, on a steady musical diet of cassette tapes of house and disco legends Ron Hardy and the Hot Mix 5, as well as classic hip-hop, soul, rare groove and jazz, and also hosts a monthly show on Brooklyn's Lot Radio.
He has also played a pivotal role in the Luaka Bop Records 2017 reissue of Alice Coltrane Turiyasangitannanda's Ashram music, which has led to a renewed interest and ever-expanding worldwide audience in her transcendent music.
