Seiji Ono
Producer, DJ, and label manager based in London, Seiji Ono runs vinyl reissues record label Melodies International alongside Floating Points since 2018 and has been a resident DJ of its internationally acclaimed 'You’re a Melody' parties.
Since 2015, Melodies International has been giving new leases of life to long-lost gems such as Trio Ternura’s A Gira, the Paradise Ballroom mix of Womack & Womack’s MPB, or Blood Of An American by Abu Talib. More recently, the label has launched Melodies Record Club, a series of artist and DJ-curated 12” reissue mini compilations in collaboration with Four Tet, Ben UFO, and Hunee, bringing beautiful music to new audiences across generations.
Amongst his most recent work, Seiji Ono produced boogie originator Leroy Burgess’ latest single, Work It Out, and major label artist Nariaki Obukuro, with whom the Melodies crew toured Japan in 2022 and 2023.
Seiji Ono also hosts a monthly radio show on Charlie Bones’ Do You radio station as well as the Melodies International show on NTS.
