Tony F. Wilson
Tony F. Wilson is a London-born musician and DJ of Jamaican descent, now based in Oslo. In the '90s, he co-promoted the legendary Quirky experimental-techno live events at Brixton's Vox club, which saw some of the earliest performances from Autechre, Global Communication, and Pan Sonic.
During this time, Wilson collaborated with members of Seefeel, Slowdive, and Sonic Youth in the projects Zurich and Echo Park, in addition to writing about kindred spirits for publications including i-D, Lime Lizard, and Trance Europe Express. Wilson has collaborated frequently with Anjali and, in 2005, produced and recorded in the post-rock ensemble Knives Ov Resistance for the Aurora Borealis label.
Since relocating to Oslo, he has recorded and played live with Necessary and provided vocals on Human Inferno’s 2023 LP for iDeal, To Piss Warm & Drink Cold. In December 2021, Woodford Halse released Wilson's debut solo album as Spykidelic, entitled False Dread. Its sister label, Preston Capes, released Botex Spykidelic (a collaboration with sound artist Timon Botez).
Fortress Addo, a Spykidelic solo album envisaged as a speculative soundtrack to acid/skunk-fueled paranoia on Croydon's council estates and haunted woodlands, was released by Weltschmerz Verlag in 2023.
