Vito Roccoforte
It all started after young Vito explored his stepdad’s epic record collection. Listening to bands such as Can & The Dead Kennedys for the first time sparked a lifelong passion for crate-digging and record store hopping.
Vito Roccoforte is no newcomer to the world of rhythm and harmony. Best known as the founding member of funk-punk behemoths The Rapture and also as a member of daytime disco groovers Poolside, Vito has toured the world as a musician and DJ, playing everywhere from sweat-soaked basements to raving mad crowds numbering in the tens of thousands. Yet, despite his years of experience, he remains as passionate as ever, still reverently greeting each day on planet Earth as if it’s his first.
Beyond vinyl, Vito’s love for music, sound, and dance floors is what drives his solo production sessions. Operating from his Brooklyn rooftop studio, he crafts ‘irreverent yet finely crafted tomes to darkness, light, dancing bodies, and open hearts’ using synths, cyborg compatriots, and every tool at his disposal. Sometimes twisted, often soulful, those are dance-floor fillers for a forgotten future.
