Akiko Futaba, born on February 2, 1915, in Hiroshima, was a Japanese female singer known for her contributions to music. Her stage name "Futaba" is derived from the Futaba area near Hiroshima station, while "Akiko" reflects the old name of Hiroshima, "Aki Country." She began her career with an educational record recorded during her high school years. After a long career, she retired in the summer of 2003 due to hearing loss and continued to live in Hiroshima until her passing on August 16, 2011.
