14 Iced Bears was formed in Brighton in mid-1985 by Rob Sekula (vocals, guitar), Alan White (bass), and Nick Emery (drums). After a short time, White left the band and was replaced by Dominic Minques on bass and Kevin Canham on rhythm guitar. The band experienced several roster changes while releasing a series of singles, including "Balloon Song" in 1987 and "Come Get Me" in 1988, the latter being an early release on the renowned Sarah label. Eventually, the band signed with Thunderball to record their self-titled debut LP in 1988, which led to a stabilized lineup consisting of Rob Sekula, Kevin Canham, Will Taylor (bass), and Graham Durrant (drums). 14 Iced Bears disbanded in 1991 but reunited for tours in the U.S., U.K., and France in 2010, only to break up again in 2014.
