18 Karat Gold was an early super-group from the prolific Munich scene of the early 1970s, led by American-German Klaus Ebert. The band often worked as the backing group for pop singer Peter Maffay. Their sole album features a few minor surprises, although it leans more towards pop than progressive rock. Notably, all band members had previously played in Amon Düül II.
