**Bio of 2 + 2 = 5** Formed in Milan in 1981, 2 + 2 = 5 consists of Nino La Loggia and Giacomo Spazio, who met at Bar Concordia, a hub for the post-punk generation. Nino, previously part of the pioneering punk band HCN with Mark Philopat, and Giacomo, a performance artist exploring innovative painting, shared a passion for music, particularly bands like Kraftwerk, Joy Division, and DAF. This mutual interest led them to create 2 + 2 = 5, named as a tribute to Orwellian dystopia. The duo quickly defined their roles, with Nino focusing on experimental sound and Giacomo writing lyrics. They made their debut at the "Cinema-Music Non-Stop" event at Cinema Porpora in May 1982. Shortly after, Cha Cha Hagiwara, a keyboard player from 'Jeunesse d'Ivoire', joined the band, enhancing their raw sound with analog elements. Following several performances in Milan, Turin, and Switzerland, the trio entered the studio to record their first LP, titled '... Into The Future', set to be released towards the end of 1983. This marked the beginning of their musical journey.
