**4 Be 2 Bio** 4 Be 2 was formed by Jimmy Lydon, the brother of John Lydon, alongside Jock McDonald (real name O'Donnell) and a number of Lydon family members and friends, including Youth (Martin Glover) of Killing Joke. The band's name was inspired by an old Irish joke about a plank of wood rather than rhyming slang. The group claimed to have produced most of their material, with John Lydon's involvement primarily limited to socializing and possibly producing their first two singles, although he later denied any collaboration, suggesting it was merely a cash-in by McDonald. One notable incident involving John Lydon and 4 Be 2 occurred in 1980 during a trip to Dublin, where he ended up in Mountjoy Prison after being assaulted by a barman. By autumn 1981, 4 Be 2 disbanded, and Jimmy Lydon retired into marriage. The remaining members, with McDonald on vocals, had already released two 12" singles in 1980 and 1981. Many releases associated with The Bollock Brothers claimed that "J. Lydon" appeared on or produced them, but this could have referred to Jimmy rather than John, likely intended to enhance sales. Additionally, John's other brother Martin also performed with the band, along with an individual known as "Mr. John Rambo."
