4hero is a musical duo formed in 1989 by Marc Mac (also known as Marc Clair) and Dego (also known as Dennis McFarlane), who are residents of Dollis Hill, London, UK. They met while studying at college and initially founded the pirate radio station Strong Island FM before establishing 4hero. The duo also had experience running sound systems such as Solar Zone and Midnight Lovers, and they played on the Girls FM pirate station. Since the early 1990s, 4hero has had a significant influence on various music styles, including jungle, drum'n'bass, hip-hop, and techno. They are often credited with virtually creating the genre "broken beat" with their album "Two Pages," released in 1998. Over the years, they have produced for numerous artists and have established several labels, each reflecting the music scenes they were involved in at the time.
