4hero is a musical duo formed in 1989 by Marc Mac (aka Marc Clair) and Dego (aka Dennis McFarlane), who are residents of Dollis Hill, London, UK. The pair met while studying at college and initially founded the pirate radio station Strong Island FM before establishing 4hero. They also had experience with sound systems like Solar Zone and Midnight Lovers, and played on the Girls FM pirate station. Since the early 1990s, 4hero has influenced a variety of music styles under different monikers, ranging from jungle and drum'n'bass to hip-hop and techno. Their album "Two Pages," released in 1998, is often credited with virtually creating the genre known as "broken beat." Throughout their career, they have produced music for a wide array of artists and have set up several labels, each reflecting the diverse music scenes they were part of at the time.
