5 Revolutions is a Zambian rock and Kalindula group originally formed in 1968 under the name "The Twangs." The original lineup included members who left the band early on, with one becoming the lead guitarist for another group. The band played in bars and various venues in Zambia's Copperbelt and gained recognition and support from ZMPL, becoming their most successful band. In 1975, 5 Revolutions released their first rock album under the ZMPL label, followed by two more rock albums in the late 1970s. By 1980, they transitioned to Kalindula music. Their last album was released in 1986, and they also produced several singles during the 1970s and 80s, remaining active as live performers. The band continued to perform throughout the 1980s and into the 1990s until the decline of ZMPL. The last member of the band passed away in 2012.
