69 Boyz is an American Miami bass and hip hop group that originated from Jacksonville, Florida, and is now primarily based in Orlando, Florida. The group was formed by producers C.C. Lemonhead and Jay Ski and includes rappers La Shaun Van "Thrill Da Playa" Bryant, Barry "Fast" Wright, Greg "Slow" Thomas, Michael "Quick Skeet" Fisher, Reginald "Busta Nut" Gunderson, and "Rottweiler" Mike Mike. The group achieved significant success in the summer of 1994 with their debut single, "Tootsee Roll," from their first album, 199Quad. The song went platinum, reaching number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 9 on the R&B chart. Their second single, "Kitty Kitty," peaked at number 55 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 1995, they received three Soul Train Music Award nominations. Their second album, The Wait is Over, was released in July 1998 and included the single "Woof Woof," which was written for the film Dr. Dolittle starring Eddie Murphy and reached number 31 on the Billboard Hot 100. The group's third album, 2069, was released in April 2000 and featured the single "How We Roll."
