7 Seconds is a punk band originally from Reno, Nevada, formed in 1980 by vocalist and his brother, bassist, along with original drummer, who was later replaced by another drummer. In 1983, drummer joined the band, and these three have constituted the core lineup ever since. Initially, the band played hardcore punk but has evolved its sound over the years, exploring emo-core, alternative rock, and pop-punk. On March 20, 2018, 7 Seconds announced their breakup via their official Facebook page. However, the band reunited in 2022.
