999 is an English punk rock band formed in London in December 1976. The original line-up, which lasted until 1985, included Nick Cash (vocals, guitar; real name Keith Lucas), Guy Days (lead guitar), Jon Watson (bass guitar), and Pablo LaBrittain (drums). In 1980, LaBrittain was temporarily replaced by Ed Case (Paul Edwards) due to injuries from a motor accident. After Watson's departure in 1985, Danny Palmer joined as the bassist until 1991, when he was succeeded by Arturo Bassick, who remains with the band today. Between 1978 and 2007, 999 released fourteen singles and twelve studio albums. Five of their singles from 1978 to 1981 reached the Top 75 in the UK Singles Chart, with "Homicide" charting in the Top 40. The band's third and fourth studio albums, "The Biggest Prize in Sport" and "Concrete," charted on the U.S. Billboard 200 following extensive touring in the United States in the early 1980s. Despite their formation in 1976, 999 has seen only two permanent changes in their original line-up and continues to record and perform live, earning recognition from AllMusic as "one of the longest-lived groups of the punk era."
