The 9th Street Exit is a musical group that first came together in 1971 as backing musicians for a tour. The band was formed around guitarist Kenny Redon and keyboard player Dunn Pearson. Other members included Ernest Cary, percussionist Booker Hollins, also known as Conga Redd, Benny Slocum, drummer Mark Anthony, and saxophonist Mike Miller. In addition to their live performances, the group also served as a studio band.
