A Blaze Colour was a Belgian band formed in 1981 by Ludo Camberlin and Bam (Karel Saelemaekers). The band operated in a minimal and occasionally experimental style, disbanding in 1983. Their discography includes a self-released cassette, a 7" vinyl single, and a 12" vinyl EP, all titled "Against The Dark Trees Beyond," released in 1981 and 1982. The name was inspired by a phrase from a book by Irish-American author J P Donleavy, but was shortened to A Blaze Colour to simplify it for fans. The cover artwork for their cassette and single was designed by Bam. In addition to their main releases, they contributed tracks to several compilations: the original version of "Fisk" on "No Big Business" (1981), "Cold As Ever" on "Hours" (1982), and "The Ultimate Fight" on "No Big Business 2" (1983). A remix of "Cold As Ever" was later included in the collection "The Dark Side Mixes - Volume 14" in 2011. A bootleg tape of a live performance recorded in the Netherlands in February 1983 features six songs, two of which are not available on their official releases. None of their official releases charted in any country. Ludo Camberlin has since retired from the music business and has no interest in reissuing the recordings.
