A Cor do Som is a Brazilian musical group founded in 1977, emerging from the entourage of musicians who accompanied the members after their time with Os Novos Baianos. The band experimented with new sound patterns, influenced by their prior experiences and the post-Tropicalia movement. The original lineup included Dadi (bass), Mú Carvalho (composition and keyboards), Armandinho (composition and Bahia guitar), and Gustavo Schroeter (drums). Ary Dias later joined the group on percussion for their second album, "Live In Montreux." The band, whose name was suggested by Caetano Veloso, became the first Brazilian musical group to perform at the Montreux Jazz Festival, which resulted in a live album. They released their first album, "A Cor do Som," in 1977. After the album "Mudança de Estação" in 1981, Armandinho left and was replaced by Victor Biglione, who contributed to "Magia Tropical" (1982) and "As Quatro Fases do Amor" (1983). In 1984, they released an all-instrumental album, "Intuição," featuring special guests like Egberto Gismonti and Tulio Mourão. In 1985, they released "Som da Cor" with Perinho Santana on guitar. The lineup changed again in 1987 with Perinho Santana and Gustavo leaving, replaced by Jorginho Gomes on drums and Didi Gomes on bass
