A Split-Second is an electronic music duo formed in 1985, consisting of Marc Heyndrickx and Peter Bonne (also known as Chrismar Chayell). Initially a solo project of Heyndrickx under the name Marc Ickx, the duo released their first demo tape, "Stained Impressions," with Bonne as producer. They signed with Antler Records and made their debut in 1986 with the EP featuring the hit "Flesh," followed by the album "Ballistic Statues" in 1987. After a brief tour, electronic musician Philip Vargod left the band, and Bonne officially joined as a member, contributing significantly to the group's sound. They released the single "Rigor Mortis" in 1987 and later signed with Wax Trax! Records in late 1988, releasing albums in the US, including "A Split-Second" and "From The Inside." The single "Mambo Witch" reached #29 on the Billboard US dance club charts in 1989. Their 1990 album, "Kiss of Fury," featured "The Parallax View," marking a shift towards a more guitar-based sound. In 1991, Bonne became involved in a side project, Wasteland, while still releasing the remix album "Flesh & Fire - 1991 Remixes" under the A Split-Second name without Ickx. The duo released their final album, "Vengeance C.O.D.
