A Taste of Honey was an American recording act formed in Los Angeles, California in 1972 by Janice-Marie Johnson and Perry Kibble. They signed to a label after being introduced by producers/songwriters Larry and Fonce Mizell. The group made history by becoming the first black group to win a Grammy for Best New Artist at the 1979 awards. In 1980, the quartet was reduced to a duo consisting of Johnson and Hazel Payne. They achieved notable success with their remake of a hit song, "Sukiyaki," featuring new English lyrics.
