Athanasia Alexandropoulou was born in 1932 in Pefko, Trikala, Greece. Her father, Theodoros Alexandropoulos, was executed by the Nazis on December 8, 1943, when Athanasia was just 12 years old. Following her father's death, she moved to Athens with her siblings in search of work. During a festive event, she was discovered by music teacher Ilektra Konstantinidou, who encouraged her to participate in a radio song competition, where she won first place. This led to her being offered a 20-minute program on Greek Radio. At the age of 18, she performed with the orchestra of Georgia Mittaki and later began her career in discography. Athanasia Alexandropoulou passed away in 2011.
