ABBA is a Swedish pop group formed in 1972, gaining fame after winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974. The group enjoyed a decade of continuous hits and successful albums. Although they ceased releasing new material in 1982, they never officially disbanded. Their popularity saw a resurgence in 1992 with the release of a compilation album that became one of the best-selling albums of all time. In 1999, the musical 'Mamma Mia!', based on ABBA's hits, premiered in London and has since become one of the most popular musicals globally, with productions in 50 countries across all six continents. ABBA was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2010 as performers. In November 2021, they released a new album, and in May 2022, they began live shows featuring virtual 'abbatars' in London.
