Abdel Ali Slimani is a Rai singer originally from El Anasser, Algeria. As a teenager, he learned to play the guitar and performed as a drummer at soccer matches. Seeking more opportunities as a musician, he moved to Paris in 1982 and later relocated to London. In London, Slimani worked as a club DJ before joining the Anglo-Arabic group Invaders of the Heart, led by former PiL bassist Jah Wobble, as a vocalist and percussionist.
