Ada Lee is a US singer originally from Springfield, Ohio, born around 1928. She has been performing jazz, blues, gospel, and soul music on stage and in recordings across the United States and Canada since the late 1950s. After relocating to Canada in the 1960s, Lee continued to perform, although her appearances on record became less frequent. She spent several decades in Peterborough, Ontario, where she contributed to numerous charities and founded the Voices for Life Gospel Choir. For her contributions to stage, television, and the Peterborough Centennial Choir, Lee received the Governor General’s Award and a plaque on the Pathway of Fame at Del Crary Park in Peterborough. In 2014, she moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, to be closer to her daughter. Her son, George Lee, is a jazz bassist based in Ohio.
