Add N to (X) is a musical group that originated as a duo called Radix Couplement in London in 1994, founded by Andrew Aveling and another member, later joined by Aveling's partner Ann Shenton. Barry Smith joined the project shortly after, and they performed as a quartet for a few months before Anderson left the band. The remaining trio continued under the name Add N to X. In 1996, the group released their debut album, Vero Electronics, and subsequently added brackets to their name. Aveling was later replaced by Steven Claydon. Add N to (X) went on to release four more studio albums between 1998 and 2002, collaborating regularly with Rob Allum on drums and Dean Honer as engineer, producer, and arranger. The group disbanded in 2003.
