Adrianne Lenker, born on July 9, 1991, in Indianapolis, Indiana, is a singer-songwriter best known as the lead vocalist and guitarist of the band Big Thief, as well as for her solo work. After moving to Minnesota at a young age, she began learning guitar and writing songs, dedicating her life to music throughout her teens. In 2014, she relocated to Brooklyn, New York, where she connected with Buck Meek, and they began performing as a duo. That same year, she self-released her first solo album, "Hours Were the Birds." In 2015, she and Buck formed the folk rock band Big Thief. Adrianne released her second solo record, "abysskiss," in October 2018 through Saddle Creek Records. In 2020, she signed to 4AD and released a double album, "songs and instrumentals."
