**Afrika Mamas Bio** Afrika Mamas is a South African Afro Folk music group founded in 1998 by Ntombifuthi Lushaba. The group members were originally discovered while working as backing singers for various renowned artists, including Tu Nokwe, Brenda Fassie, Luzurus Dgadgudi, and Steve Kekana. Over the years, they have collaborated with a variety of South African and Afrikaans musicians, such as Janni Moolman, Amanda Strydom, and Dozi. The group has released two albums, both of which have been nominated for South African Music Awards in the same category as the famous Ladysmith Black Mambazo. They received nominations for Best Cover Album in 1999 and Best Isicathamiya Group in 2008 at the Sun City Super Bowl. Afrika Mamas has actively promoted intercultural exchange, performing in numerous countries, including China, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, and Ivory Coast, among others. The group consists of single mothers who collectively have eleven children, and their social experiences are reflected in their music. They share a strong bond built on faith and trust. Their vision is to entertain through African folk music, promote women-oriented musical experiences, and create job opportunities for other women.
