After 7 is an R&B vocal trio formed in 1987 in Indianapolis, Indiana, known for their new jack swing and quiet storm style. The group consists of brothers and their college friend. They released three albums between 1989 and 1995, achieving significant success with hits such as "Ready Or Not," "Heat Of The Moment," and "Can't Stop." In 1992, they included a medley single of "Baby I'm For Real / Natural High" in their second album, covering songs originally hits in 1969 and 1973, respectively. After 7 contributed to several soundtracks, including "The Five Heartbeats" with "Nights Like This" (1991), "Sugar Hill" with "Gonna Love You Right" (1994), and "Beverly Hills, 90210 - The College Years" with "Not Enough Hours In The Night" (1994). In 1997, they covered Hall & Oates' "Sara Smile" for their compilation "The Very Best Of After 7." From 1989 to 1993, they also provided backing vocals for various artists.
