Agnes Strange is a hard rock/blues band formed in 1972 in Southampton, Hampshire, England, by John Westwood (lead guitar, vocals), Alan Green (bass, vocals), and Dave Rodwell (drums, vocals). In 1974, they were managed by the Dick James Organization and relocated to London. They signed with Pye Records, which assigned them to the BirdsNest label, created through an agreement with a chain of pubs that sold their records. Their album, Strange Flavour, was produced by Dave Travis, who also contributed to a couple of tracks. The band recorded another album that remained unreleased until the 1990s. Strange Flavour was reissued in 1976 by RCA Germany (with one missing track) and again in 1996 by Green Tree Records on CD (including three previously unreleased tracks). It was re-released by Rev-Ola Records in 2007. The album titled Theme for a Dream or Dust in the Sunlight features material presumably recorded between 1972 and 1974, consisting of unreleased productions and demos, although the first release date is uncertain due to conflicting sources.
