Agusto Cego is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist from Cape Verde, who has been residing in Massachusetts since the late '80s. He lost his sight at the age of 15 and is well-known for his mastery of morna, a slow and melancholic style of song from Cape Verde. Morna combines elements of West African percussion, Portuguese fados, Brazilian modhinas, and British sea shanties.
