Ahmed Wahby, born Ahmed Driche Tidjani on November 15, 1921, in Marseille, was an influential Algerian singer who passed away on October 28, 1993, in Algiers. He is recognized as one of the founders of the musical genre El Asri, which originated in Oran in the 1940s. This genre draws inspiration from renowned Arab music masters like Mohamed Abdelwahab and Farid El Atrache, incorporating their style while utilizing the rhythms and poetic language characteristic of Oran.
