Akasa was a band formed in 1989, known for its unique blend of sounds. The group consisted of lead singer Sophiya Haque, percussionist and tabla player John 'Jhalib' Millar, and sitar player Clem Alford. The band released one album titled "One Night In My Life" before disbanding. Following the split, Jhalib, Clem, and producer Martyn Phillips continued to create music, while Sophiya moved to Asia to join Star Television Networks.
