Akiko Kanazawa is a Japanese folk "min-yō" and enka singer born on October 25, 1954, in Ichikawa, Chiba, Japan. She began her career after winning a min-yō contest hosted by Nippon Min-yō Kyōkai in 1970. Her debut album, titled "若い民謡" (translated as "Young Folk Songs"), was released in March 1976.
