Akira is one of Holland's most renowned extreme speedcore, hardcore, and gabba DJs, known for his dynamic performances and ownership of two record labels, Hong Kong Violence and HKVZ. He began his career in the mid-1990s as an industrial hardcore techno, terror, and speedcore DJ, gaining recognition as "de race chinees" in 1998 during the sold-out Mysteryland Lingebos edition. Over the years, Akira has played at numerous clubs and raves, including Hemkade (NL), Clubnumberone (IT), Pont Aeri (ESP), Bunker (DE), and Void (UK), as well as major events like Thunderdome, Masters of Hardcore, and Defcon. His first singles were released in 1998, created using the iconic Amiga 600, and he formed a close friendship with Richard, a.k.a. Drokz, after meeting during an interview at the Tunnel of Terror (Mysteryland 1997). Drokz encouraged him to produce tracks for his label, C**t records, leading to the successful diss song "Trancetrutje" in 2000. Currently, Akira continues to innovate within the hardcore techno genre, blending various styles such as UK hardcore, schranz, hard techno, breakcore, frenchcore, and extreme speedcore. His electrifying DJ sets solidify his status as a leading figure in the hardest hardcore techno scene.
