Akli Yahiatene, born in 1933, is a Kabyle singer from Algeria. He hails from Aït-Mendes, near Boghni in the Tizi Ouzou region of Kabylia. In the 1950s, he emigrated to France, where he worked in Citroën plants and actively supported the Algerian Front de Libération Nationale (FLN). His political involvement led to multiple incarcerations, during which he composed many songs. Yahiatene's popularity spanned from the 1950s to the 1970s.
