Al B. Sure! is an R&B singer, songwriter, and producer born on June 4, 1968, in Boston, Massachusetts. He grew up in Leonia, New Jersey, and Mt. Vernon, New York. Between 1988 and 2009, he released four albums, primarily produced by himself. His debut album included the single "If I'm Not Your Lover," which he collaborated on with a rapper, and it sold over two million copies. The album featured his crossover quiet storm mega hit, which became his biggest hit, reaching #7 on the U.S. pop charts and #1 on the U.S. R&B charts, earning him a Grammy nomination for Best Vocal R&B Male Performance. It also included his cover of a classic song that was first recorded in 1971. In 1989, he was chosen to sing alongside other artists on the smooth soul suite "The Secret Garden (Sweet Seduction Suite)" for Quincy Jones' double platinum album "Back On The Block." In 1990, he collaborated with another artist for the single "No Matter What You Do," included in his second album "Private Times...And The Whole 9!," which also featured a cover of the classic hit "Hotel California."
