Al B. Sure! is an R&B singer, songwriter, and producer born on June 4, 1968, in Boston, Massachusetts. He grew up in Leonia, New Jersey, and Mt. Vernon, New York. Between 1988 and 2009, he released four albums, primarily produced by himself. His debut album featured the single "If I'm Not Your Lover," which he recorded in collaboration with a rapper and went on to sell over two million copies. The album also included his crossover quiet storm mega hit, which became his biggest hit, reaching #7 on the U.S. pop charts and #1 on the U.S. R&B charts, earning him a Grammy nomination for Best Vocal R&B Male Performance. Additionally, he covered a classic song that was originally recorded in 1971 but became an all-time classic in 1973. In 1989, he was chosen to sing alongside other artists on the smooth soul suite "The Secret Garden (Sweet Seduction Suite)" from Quincy Jones's double platinum album "Back On The Block." In 1990, he collaborated with another artist for the single "No Matter What You Do," included in his second album "Private Times...And The Whole 9!," which also featured a cover of the classic 1976 hit "Hotel California."
