Alamin Abdel-Latif (1942 - August 7, 2017) was an Eritrean musician born in Abashawl, Asmara. He was a teacher, earning him the title Ustaz Alamin or Memhir Alamin. Alamin began his singing career performing at weddings and parties before joining the Asmara Theater Association in 1964. He produced a number of patriotic and revolutionary songs in Tigrinya and Tigre languages, highlighting the subtle tactics of colonial powers during the struggle for independence. Alamin became a member of the Haraka (Eritrean Liberation Movement) and later joined the Eritrean Liberation Front (ELF) in 1974.
