Albatros was an Italian melodic pop/soul/disco group founded in 1974 and disbanded in 1978. The group achieved notable success with their singles, particularly "Africa," which became a big chart hit in 1975, and "Volo AZ 504" in 1976. The lineup included members who played various instruments and contributed to the group's sound: one member provided vocals, guitar, and piano from 1974 to 1978; Lino Losito played guitar during the same period; another member was on keyboards from 1977 to 1978; Giuseppe Pietrobon was on bass from 1974 to 1978; Nicola Cricelli played drums from 1974 to 1978; Maurizio Cristiani contributed guitar and chorus from 1974 to 1978; another member played keyboard and synth from 1974 to 1976; Massimo Viganò was on guitar and chorus from 1974 to 1976; Silvano Calefato played guitar and percussion from 1977 to 1978; Gianangelo Calefato played sax and keyboard from 1977 to 1978; Pietro Cardazzo contributed trumpet and percussion from 1977 to 1978; and another member played sax and flute from 1977 to 1978. Additional musicians included a bassist and a drummer, with Daniele Albarello La Bassèe also on drums.
