Albert Ayler was an American avant-garde jazz saxophonist, singer, and composer, born on July 13, 1936, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was the older brother of another musician. Ayler's life came to an unfortunate end when his body was found floating in the East River at the foot of Congress Street Pier in Brooklyn, New York, on November 25, 1970. He passed away in November 1970.
