Albert King was an American singer, guitarist, and songwriter, born on April 25, 1923, in Indianola, Mississippi. He passed away on December 21, 1992, in Memphis, Tennessee. Known as one of the most influential blues guitarists of the 1950s and 1960s, he began his recording career in the late 1940s and achieved his greatest commercial success while signed to a label from 1966 until 1974.
