Alberto Amancio Beltrán, known as "El Negrito del Batey," was a Dominican singer born on May 5, 1923, in Palo Blanco, La Romana. He passed away on February 2, 1997, in Miami. Beltrán was renowned for his performances in various music genres, including bolero, son montuno, mambo, merengue, and guaracha. He began his career recording with René Hernandez's orchestra in the Dominican Republic before moving to New York City in 1951 to collaborate with La Sonora Matancera.
